This poem was penned when there were earthquakes in quick succession in Gujarat and Maharashtra state.
Latur,Orissa and Gujarat now,nature's fury hit hard and how,
Devastated families wailed in despair,the earthquake had them in its snare.
Young children celebrating their 52nd republic,were crushed under the inhuman walls of brick,
The land known for dandiya-raas and arts, was broken and crushed into a thousand parts.
The nation heard of this great loss,all came forward be it employee or boss,
They contributed generously in cash and kind,yet survivors could not put their past behind.
For the heartless it was opportunities galore,they filled their coffers in this unfortunate uproar,
As they still feel the tremors in that state,lonely hearts wonder,"What will be our fate?"
A ravaged land is slowly being built,their misery can make stone hearts wilt,
Let's include them in our prayer each day,may God give them strength and lead the way.
