This poem was written when the new competency based curriculum was introduced by the NCERT for all the schools.There were many training modules introduced for teachers.
The burden of bags,the stress on memory,
The absence of values,dull classes in which they had to be.
To put an end to all this,The NCERT thought of a plan,
A policy that was joyful and value-based,one aimed at drawing skills innate.
The load of books it reduced,and confidence in kids it did restore,
Teachers' creativity came to the fore,Class teaching wasn't boring any more.
The workload of teachers has increased ,it's true,but what's a little extra work for me and you,
When we shall reap a wonderful harvest,of citizens bold,intelligent and conscientious too!
