Distribute sweets,blow the horn,
Rejoice,rejoice, a son  is born!

What did you say ,it isn't true,
Don't tell me it's a girl,O,please don't do!

I don't mind even a boy who is lame,
'Cause girls are a burden ,a curse,a shame;
(While boys carry forward the family name.)
Girls incur heavy financial loss,
Boys earn the bread,they are the boss!

No my friend,do believe my verse,
Times have changed for better not worse;
Girls are neither burdens nor a curse,
They are the ones who have been givers for years.

They are the ones who do domestic chores,
They help the child to stand up from his fours.
To their elders they lend a helping hand,
The young ones' feelings they understand.

They aren't imprisoned in their walls four,
They are the doctors,nurses,teachers and more.
What is a girl?She's not just a child.....
She's a mother,sister,wife,friend and guide.

There are ,but a few who really do,
Acknowledge the worth of a girl-child it's true,
But from now on let's give her the respect due,
'Cause the future of the girl child depends on you!
