Ban The Bomb!

This was written when there were many bomb blasts all over Mumbai city  after the Babri Masjid issue.

Another Monday at school

Back to my learning routine,

I remembered my mother dearest

As teacher explained about "Matrudin".

She'll be late today,she'd said

As she readied me for school in a hurry,

She had to go to Zaveri bazaar

To get my gold ear-rings;she said don't worry.

When half-way through recess break

My uncle picked me up from school,

All my curoius queries went unanswered

He was shell-shocked and had lost his cool.

I found myself at the Civil hospital

Witness to un-mentionable gory sights there,

Blood-soaked bodies vied for attention

Doctors,patients relatives-all in utter despair!

Through teary eyes I saw my mother dear,

Seeing her motionless form I let out a wail,

The world will never be the same for me again

At this young age I have seen humanity fail.

Even as Mumbai recovers from terrorist attacks

I wonder why the human race lives in fear,

"Ban the Bomb" pleads generation next

"We want to grow up ,not blow up!"the message is clear.

As I reconstruct my shattered life now

Believe me,life without a pillar of strength is tough,

Terrorism only breaks homes and hearts,

"Ban the bomb!" because even without them life is rough.
