I Really Miss Them All

Missing school more now as this was the month when it reopened after vacations.
School brings back so many memories.I really miss my school!

The majestic school building and the huge playgrounds,
The parking lot, nurseries, gardens and the trees tall,
The libraries, laboratories and the research rooms,
I really miss them all!

Enthusiastic children,smart in their uniforms,
Students answering their roll-call,
Their friendly banter and their little brawls,
I really miss them all!

The non-stop laughter and excited shouts,
Kids full of energy having a ball,
Teaching periods and all the proxies too
I really miss them all!

The blackboard , chalks and duster,
Colourful posters and art on the wall,
Bright backpacks and water-bottles,
I really miss them all!

Picnics, field visits and outdoor games,
Inter-school and in-house competitions to enthrall,
Karadi Path, Mindspark and Open Door,
I really miss them all!

Parents Day, Sports Day and Open House,
Celebrating festivals together in the hall,
The PTC's and the faculty meetings,
I really miss them all!

The yummy dahi wads and vada pavs,
Regular visits to the canteen stall,
The health care centre and open gym,
I really miss them all!

The punctual school bell and morning assembly,
Chaotic departures with students cheek by jowl,
The fleet of school buses and the security's whistles,
I really miss them all!

Discussions and heart to heart to heart talks,
Singing, dancing and laughing out loud (lol)
The selfies and birthday celebrations,
I really miss them all!

Staff meetings, seminars and workshops,
My table, chair ,even the calendar on my class wall,
My classroom, my cupboard and my lovely students,
I really miss them all!

This is not just my workplace, this is where I belong,
Countless moments at my happy place I recall,
Waiting eagerly to go back to school because
 I REALLY MISS THEM ALL!

Teachers are Special

In gratitude for teachers who have taken up the challenge of teaching online due to the lockdown.Their efforts need to be appreciated.

Teachers are said to be special
They are one of a kind,
Capable of accomplishing tasks,
Leaving no student left behind.

When the COVID pandemium struck,
It brought confusion and untold fears,
Teachers rose to the occasion,
They were ready to change gears.

From classroom, chalk and talk,
They had to shift to online mode,
Without much ado they were ready,
The Zoom and Google Meet classes to decode.

The task of course was not easy,
They slogged through day and night,
They knew education was at stake,
Their students' future had to be bright.

The training sessions and workshops,
Gave them the necessary skill,
But what kept them in good stead,
Was their dedication and unfaltering will.

So now with this new normal,
The teachers are ready to rock,
Till they are back in the classrooms,
Online teaching talents we  see unlock.

To make learning more joyful,
To keep the students spirits high,
To see that learning is productive,
Relentlessly these teachers try.

Under the able guidance of Revathy Ma'am,
We can work wonders as a team,
Teachers,  coordinators and heads together,
We can achieve our Sulonian dream

A dream where we surge ahead,
Meeting challenges head on,
Taking our Sulonian family together,
To witness a successful dawn.

Dedication to Teachers!

Dedicated to all the teachers who will start their online classes this month.
Your efforts are appreciated!

My dear teachers,
What can I say!
You have proved yourself
Come what may.

With the new normal,
You have proved your might,
Taken up the challenge,
Worked day and night.

You have trained yourself well,
Zoom ho ya Google meet,
With workshops galore,
You have achieved a great feat.

Creating classes and invites,
It all seemed an uphill task,
Plus worksheets and PPTs,
Oh God, just don't ask!

All these kept you busy,
You could not sleep in peace,
You strained your eyes and backs
Yet never showed you were not at ease.

You strived to get it right,
And now you are all set,
To face online classes,
You will rock it, I can bet!

I feel so proud today,
I wish you all the best,
My dear talented teachers,
You will surely pass the test!

A Tale about Folk Tales

The theme for this years Annual Programme for STD 3 was 'Folk Tales Around The World.'
It was fun to engage the children with skits , songs and dances connected to folk tales from all around the world. Folk tales around the world not only entertain but also teach us values for life. They make us realize that whether the story is from India or any other place in the world, they inspire us to lead a better life. They connect us with their universal emotions.

This is song sung to the tune of the song- I am a Barbie Girl.......in my Barbie world.

Folk tales bring us joy
And play a vital role,
Life's much better
When we're all together.

Learn values for life,
Reduces all your strife,
Imagination,
Stories bring elation.

Come,come here now,
Time for a story,
ooh,oohoooooo,
 (Repeat Chorus)

Stories teach of hope,
In the fantasy world,
We learn to grow, develop
And aspire.

Give us a goal, reach our soul,
Give the power to think,
Help us all, bear the fall,
Slowly, slowly.

You can read, you can feel,
If you say, they're always yours.

Folk tales bring us joy,
And play a vital role,
Life's much better,
When we're all together.

Learn values for life,
Reduces all your strife,
Imagination,
Stories bring elation.

Come,come here now,
Time for a story,
ooh,oohoooooo,
 (Repeat Chorus)

Come,come here now,
Time for a story,
ooh,oohoooooo,
 (Repeat Chorus)

To conclude, stories have the power to change our lives and change the world for the better. Folk tales are relics, part of an un-discovered , pre-existing world.
