Ghosts! They don't exist
Just a figment of an imaginative mind,
So saying I consoled myself,
Into my tent I went, leaving my friends behind.
Here I was, camping overnight,
Out for some adventure and thrill,
After a late-night session of ghost stories,
I was shivering with fright, not any regular chill.
Not daring to hear any more
Of the upturned feet and ghostly sounds,
I hoped to forget those creepy tales,
And relax with some sleep profound.
What was that, an eerie noise?
Suddenly I see a shadow run past,
Oh no! I can hear footsteps now,
In my sleeping bag I try to hide ,aghast!
Fear mounts, my heart beats so loud,
The Hanuman Chalisa I fervently chant,
I try to scream for my friends,
My shriek dies in my throat, I can't!
I dare not look, dare not move,
And to my shock I feel a touch,
A mysterious hand slowly makes it's way,
Who said there were no ghosts as such!!!
Yes, that hand, it felt so cold,
Came and slowly rested on my shoulder right,
And me, I was on the verge of collapse,
With an inhuman scream I jumped in fright!
Tent lights are turned on,
Familiar voices I hear,
From my cocoon I am out,
Finally my friends are near!
Concerned at first, then there was laughter,
They knew I had a terrible nightmare,
The ghost stories had cast their ugly spell,
I was still shivering, they giggled without a care!
So that was my personal ghost story
Where I had a ghostly rendezvous,
The next time I meet another one,
I will try to scare him and say BOO!
